Three Arrested After Traffic Stop In Bloomington

(BLOOMINGTON) - Three Indianapolis residents were arrested Wednesday after an Indiana University Police Department officer conducted a routine traffic stop and found drugs, cash and guns in the vehicle.

IUPD officer Brian Oliger pulled a vehicle over for traveling the wrong way on East Atwater Avenue in front of the IU School of Optometry. 22-year-old Jarrin Forte, 22-year-old Jarrett Rivera and 19-year-old Courdney Hines were in the jeep.

Oliger said he smelled marijuana when approaching the vehicle. After obtaining a search warrant, he found several hidden compartments inside the vehicle, according to an IUPD press release.

Discovered in the vehicle were more than two pounds of marijuana, 193 Xanax pills, four grams of the synthetic cannabinoid Spice, seven Doxycycline pills, and a large amount of cash and guns.

The three suspects were processed at the Monroe County Jail around 6 a.m., Officer Jeremy Pearson said.

Forte was charged with possession of Schedule IV narcotic with intent to deliver, a class B felony; possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a class D felony; and possession of legend drug, a class D felony.

Hines was charged with possession of Schedule IV narcotic with intent to deliver, a class B felony, and possession of legend drug, a class D felony.

Rivera was charged with possession of Schedule IV narcotic with intent to deliver, a class B felony; possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a class D felony; and possession of synthetic cannabinoid, an A misdemeanor.

Pearson said bail is set at $20,000 for each suspect.
