Last updated on Wednesday, May 16, 2012

(VALLONIA) - Starve Hollow State Recreation Area will open its doors for its annual open house from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Forest Education Center, the former nature center.

Included is a guided tour of a recent timber harvest at 5 p.m., Property Manager Brad Schneck of Seymour said.

"This tour will be conducted by our foresters providing an informational and
educational tour of one of our property timber harvests," Schneck said. "The open house is a time for the public to learn about what's happening in forestry and on the properties as well as a time for the public to interact with staff one on one."

Starve Hollow is at 4345 S. 275W near Vallonia.
