(FRENCH LICK) - Trying to get your teens away from the computer to take part in a family activity? Involvment in the high tech hide and seek activity known as geocaching may help.
Geocaching, usually done outdoors, employs a global positioning system to find caches. A cache consists of a logbook and pen in a waterproof container. Since the activity began in 2000, more than 1.6 million caches have been hidden in more than 200 countries around the world and on the International Space Station.
Members of the Springs Valley High School Science Club, under the direction of Chad Goldman, will present a program on geocaching at the Melton Public library at 7 p.m. on May 24
If the weather allows, participants may go on a search for a cache in downtown French Lick.
