(BEDFORD) - A small female toddler was found walking in the middle of 17th Street Tuesday morning.
According to Bedford Police Department Chief Dennis Parsley, a resident on 17th Street noticed the girl, who is around 2 to 3-years-old standing in the middle of the street.
"He removed the child from the road," Parsley said. "He didn't recognized the girl so he called police."
Police went house to house knocking on doors, looking for the child's mother.
"As another officer was getting ready to bring the child to the police station, another officer located the mother," Parsley said. "The child was returned to her mother and the Department of Children Services were contact."
