Road Construction on 17th Street In Bloomington Begins Monday

(BLOOMINGTON) - The Indiana Department of Transportation is advising motorists of upcoming road restrictions on 17th Street in Bloomington.

Construction crews will close the intersection at 17th Street and State Road 45/46 beginning Monday, May 7 for roadway improvements.

As part of the S.R. 45/46 bypass reconstruction project, 17th Street will be closed from S.R. 45/46 to Jordan Avenue. Fee Lane to S.R. 45/46 will be the alternate route and signage will be posted to assist motorists. Local access will be available on 17th Street between Fee Lane and either leg of Jordan Avenue, however there will be no access to 17th Street from Lingelbach Lane. The intersection is scheduled to reopen May 31.

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) urges all drivers to be aware of work zone locations, practice safe driving habits and navigate all work zones cautiously. Drivers can learn the locations of highway work zones ahead of time by visiting www.TrafficWise.in.gov or by calling 1-800-261-ROAD (7623).
