(MEDORA) - Medora Community School Corporation is proposing a preschool program at the school three days a week.
The cost will be $30 per child, or $15 for children if they receive free or reduced meals. Superintendent Tom Judd says Child Care Network will pay for the school $450 a year for janitorial service related to the preschool program.
Judd's remarks came during a trustees' meeting Monday in the school media center.
He said Child Care Network, which also funds the two-week kindergarten Jump Start program each summer, will pay the school $450 a year for janitorial services related to the preschool program.
Judd said the program excites him because if parents are willing to enroll their children in the preschool program, they will want to bring their children back to attend school.
He also discussed the summer lunch program, which provides meals to any person 18 or younger. Adults may purchase a meal for $2.50. Judd said the program begins June 4 and runs through the first week of August.
A driver has been hired to take meals to the Sparksville area.
He also discussed The Giving Place, a program operated by the Community Foundation of Jack-son County.
He said the program allows people from the Medora community to donate money for different projects through the Internet.
