(SALEM) - An umpire for a high school baseball game had a BAC of .235, according to an arrest report from the Salem City Police Department.
Morton D. Cullins, 43, 508 Berkey St., Salem, was arrested following the incident last Friday at the Salem High School baseball field. He is charged with public intoxication, a misdemeanor.
After Daniel Ponder, one of the baseball coaches, noticed an odor of alcohol coming from Cullins, police were called. Officer Eric Mills arrived at 5:35 p.m. and noted Cullins was staggering as he walked toward him. His speech was also slow and slurred, Mills said, and Cullins told him he had been drinking.
After observing Cullins' impairment and administering the breath test, Mills arrested him. Cullins was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
