Palmyra Man Injured After ATV Crash

(PALMYRA) - Indiana Conservation Officers say the 60-year-old Cecil D. Shrout, of Palmyra was injured after he was thrown from his ATV Friday afternoon.

Indiana Conservation Officer Jim Hash says the accident happened on private property northwest of Palmyra on South Palmyra Road.

Hash says Shrout was injured when his Polaris Ranger ATV went over a steep embankment along the drive to his property and he was thrown from the vehicle.

Shrout, who suffered multiple injuries, was transported to University of Louisville Hospital.
Pierce Township Volunteer Fire Department, Washington County EMS, and the Washington County Sheriff's Department were also at the scene.

Hash says the accident is still under investigation.
