(MONROE COUNTY) -The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory late Monday for parts of Monroe, Brown and Lawrence counties.

About 2 inches of heavy rain fell across southeast parts of Bloomington, according to the weather service, causing minor flooding in Bloomington and Nashville.

Meteorologists warned residents not to drive in places where water covered the road.

At least 2 feet of water also covered the Park Ridge East neighborhood near Sheffield Drive and Cambridge Drive, officials said.

More reports of flooding came from the areas of Kinser Pike, East Hunter Avenue and surrounding areas.
