(MITCHELL) - Mitchell senior Trevor Phillips has committed to Wabash College, where he'll join one of the top Division III wrestling programs in the Midwest.
Coach Steve Grissom has had several collegiate-caliber wrestlers in his years with the Jackets, but Phillips will be the first to make the transition to wrestle in college.
Grissom believes his former heavyweight, who went 38-1 this past season, has the ability to be just as successful at the collegiate level. Wabash Assistant Coach Danny Irwin says
Phillips will make a great addition to the team and expect big things out of Phillips in the next four years. Phillips goal is to be a four-time All-American and to get into mixed martial arts.
