(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Coroner John Sherrill said the dead man found in the parking lot of Rusty's West End Steak & Lounge this morning has not been identified.

Sherrill said investigators are awaiting a search warrant to finish processing the scene, which will include identifying the dead man, who died of stab wounds.

The fight was in the parking lot on the west side of the bar entrance, Sherrill said. The bar was closed at the time.

Bedford Police Department detectives are investigating an altercation that left one man dead and another injured. Police were called to the bar at 4:58 a.m. this morning.

Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley says one man was being treated at a local hospital and he didn't know the degree of his injuries and another man was deceased in the parking lot.

Parsley says more information will be available as soon as officers complete processing the scene.
