(BLOOMINGTON) - In wake of the Penn State scandal involving accusations of child sex abuse against former football coach Jerry Sandusky, Indiana University is now enforcing new safety and protection policies.

The policy lists measures that will be taken to protect children who participate in on-campus programs and camps. It calls for criminal background checks and sex offender registry checks for everyone involved in the program, as well as other measures.

Violations of the new policy may result in cancellation of programs and disciplinary action toward individuals.
