(BLOOMFIELD) - Greene County now has a plan in place for emergency debris removal in the event of a storm, flood or other natural disaster following action Monday morning by the Greene County Commissioners.
Nick Schneider of the Greene County Daily World reports that Greene County Emergency Management Agency Director Roger Axe drafted the plan, in cooperation with Greene County Highway Department Superintendent Brent Murray.
Axe told the commissioners that having a written plan in place is one of the requirements of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in order to expedite reimbursements when a disaster strikes.
The plan, among other procedural and logistical guidelines, also sets forth approved rates that local firms would be paid for debris removal in advance.
Axe called the plan "a living document," meaning it can and most likely will be revised in the future.
