Former Linton Man Faces Child Molestation Charges

Last updated on Monday, May 14, 2012

(TERRE HAUTE) - A former Linton man has been charged with one count of felony child molesting and faces a July jury trial.

Nick Schneider, of the Greene County Daily World, reports Joshua Hall, 34, was arrested earlier this week by the Terre Haute Police Department and made an initial appearance in Vigo Superior Court Division 5.

Hall, a former correctional officer a Wabash Valley Correctional Facility at Carlisle now living in Terre Haute, was formally charged with one count of child molesting - a class A felony.

Hall informed the court that he was going to hire his own attorney, and Superior Court 5 Judge Michael Rader scheduled an attorney appearance hearing for May 23, according to court records.

A pre-trial conference was set for July 9 with a jury trial scheduled for 1:30 a.m. on July 30. Bond was set at $75,000 cash only.

Judge Rader also issued a no-contact order with the victim and a member of the child's family, if Hall is released on bond.

Terre Haute police investigators allege that on Aug. 15, 2011, Hall performed various sex acts with a 6-year-old girl, according to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court.
Hall, a 1995 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School, is currently incarcerated in the Vigo County Jail.

Hall worked at the Sullivan County prison facility from January 2008 to February 2011, when he was dismissed, pending criminal charge and deemed not eligible for rehire, according to Rich Larsen, public information officer at WVCF.
