Last updated on Saturday, May 12, 2012

(FRENCH LICK) - A Dubois man was injured when the semi truck he was driving rolled over around 9:32AM Thursday morning on Ind. 56 just west of French Lick.

According to the Orange County Sheriffs Department, 68-year-old Donald Fuhrman, of Dubois, was driving a 2000 Freight Liner semi truck east pulling a trailer loaded with chicken manure.

The semi truck and trailer rounded a curve and rolled onto its side, slid off the roadway dumping the chicken manure into a nearby creek.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management was called to the scene and coordinated the cleanup of the creek area. The DNR was also notified.

Traffic was stopped for nearly 3 hours while workers cleared the crash site.

Fuhrman was treated for possible internal and head injuries following the crash. He was flown by Air Evac Helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital.

The crash is still under investigation.
