Last updated on Friday, May 25, 2012

(BROWNSTOWN) - 11-year-old Olivia Barlow, of Brownstown, who will attends Brownstown Central Middle School next year discovered the school does not put on plays, so she decided to make and produce her own play.

She wrote the play "Peter Pan and the Kidnapped Indian Princess" and began to make plans to stage it.

Jackson County Community Theatre in Brownstown, gave Olivia permission to stage her play at Royal Off-the-Square Theatre.

Olivia says half of the proceeds will go to the theater for renovations and the other half to the people affected by the tornadoes that hit southern Indiana on March 2.

The play features 17 kids from ages 3 to 12 and one adult. It will be held at the Royal Off- the- Square Theatre at 5 p.m. Sunday. The cost is $3 per person; children 4 and younger are free.

Donations may be made to Jackson County Community Theatre or Henryville Community Church during the play or mailed to 121 W. Walnut St. Brownstown, IN 47220 or P.O Box 214 Henryville, IN 47126, respectively. Make checks to Jackson County Community Theatre or HCC-Recovery with "Olivia's Play" in the memo line.
