(BEDFORD) - The Bedford North Lawrence Scholarship Foundation awarded $246,319 in the form of 287 scholarships Monday night to students in the Bedford North Lawrence Class of 2012.
Also receiving scholarships were BNL graduates who received continuing scholarships.
The 2012 amount was slightly less than the 2011 total, which was nearly $288,000.
Hillard Lewis, vice president of the BNL Scholarship board, said the process of matching awards with recipients is like assembling a large puzzle.
"The three best days of the year are the days in the student interviews," he said.
