Bedford Woman Dies After Car Plunges Into Creek

(BEDFORD) - 20-year-old Amanda Wolber died Wednesday just after 2 p.m. after her car crashed into Leatherwood Creek.

Wolber was pronounced dead at the scene by Lawrence County Coroner John Sherrill.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley Wolber was traveling west on Leatherwood Road, approaching U.S.50 when for some unknown reason she lost control of her Oldsmobile Cutlass, causing it to go off the west side of the road. The car then glanced off a utility pole and plunged into Leatherwood Creek.

Assisting Bedford Police officers, were Lawrence County Coroner John Sherrill, Indiana University Health Bedford ambulance personnel and Bedford Fire Department firefighters assisted at the scene.
