Auto Accident Traps Two Bedord Women

(CANNELBURG) - A Wednesday afternoon traffic accident on U.S. 50 near Cannelburg trapped two Bedford women in the vehicle.

At 4:41 p.m. Wednesday Daviess County 9-1-1 received calls reporting an personal injury accident on U.S. 50 near Daviess County Road 800 E.

When Sheriff's Deputies arrived on the scene, witness told them that a 1999 Ford Explorer being driven by 40-year-old Jennifer Kirk of Bedford was westbound on U.S. 50 when for an unknown reason the car left the northside of the roadway, sideswiped a tree, traveled along and embankment, trough a ditch, and the struck a large tree in the yard of Jack Graber, head-on.

Kirk and her passenger, 47-year-old Kelley Guthrie of Bedford were trapped inside the Explorer. According to the accident report the two women suffered multiple fractures.

They were treated at the scene by Southwest Medical EMS and then transported to the hospital. There has been no further report on the condition of the two victims.
