Area Swimming Pools Open

(UNDATED) - Bedford's pool will be open Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from noon to 6 p.m., but will then close until North Lawrence Schools let out on May 31.

It will reopen June 1 and stay open through Sept. 3. Hours are from noon to 6 p.m.

In addition, the parks department is now taking registrations for its preschool aquatics classes, "Learn to Swim" clinics, aquatic exercise classes, a pre-lifeguarding course and a diving instructional class.

Season passes cost $40 for adults and $25 for children who live within the city limits. The costs are $50 and $30 for out-of-town adults and children, respectively. Daily admission costs $3 per adult and $2.50 per child, and an all-day pass for the water slide sells for $1.50.


Mitchell City pool will open Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. every day through Labor Day. The cost is $2 for adults, $1.50 for children and those younger than 2 are admitted for free. Season passes are $30 each, or $125 for a family pass.

The dates for swim lessons have not been set, but will cost $20 for five days of lessons, and the Friday night swims, where families can swim from 9 p.m. to midnight, will continue this summer. The pool also is available for rentals.


The pool at Spring Mill Sate Park will open on Saturday from noon until 8 p.m. On Sunday through Friday's the pool is open from noon until 6 p.m. Cost is $2 a person or $35 for 25 visits.
