Alleged Pekin Bank Robbers Arrested In Ohio

(PEKIN) - 36-year-old Billy Joe Dugard, was arrested at 7:20 p.m. by members of the U.S. Marshals in the Columbus, Ohio area, Delaware County Sheriff’s Department and the Ohio Adult Parole.

Also arrested was alleged accomplice 26-year-old Ashley Owens.

Both were charged with robbery of the PNC Bank in Pekin and are being held in a Columbus, Ohio jail.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department issued warrants for the two on Wednesday.

The Pekin PNC branch has been robbed several times in the past. Because of this, high quality video surveillance equipment was installed

Authorities were able to release photos of the suspect inside and leaving the bank. Those images were released to area news media and spread through social media, which led to many tips being generated and the arrest of Dugard and Owens.

According to police, Dugard entering the bank Monday, April 30th,approached a teller said he was armed with a weapon and demanded cash. He was given an undisclosed amount and walked out. He was seen leaving with a blonde woman.
