(BLOOMFIELD) - Money raised at the Annual Greene County Ag Day Dinner has been awarded as scholarships to four graduated seniors, who plan to study agriculture-related fields in college.
Nick Schneider of the Greene County Daily World reports the dinner was hosted in March at the Greene County Fairgrounds.
The following students were awarded $400 scholarships -- Chelsea Hineman of Linton-Stockton, Bradley Seymour of Bloomfield, Randi Jo Faulk of White River Valley, and Alissa Hayes of Shakamak.
The four scholarship recipients graduated Saturday.
Chelsea Hineman
Hineman will be majoring in Pre-Vet studies at Purdue University with a goal of becoming a large animal veterinarian.
She is the daughter of Jon Hineman and Michelle Tabelman, of Linton.
Hineman is a 10-year 4-H member, a three-year FFA member, National Honor Society member, manager of the football team, and member of several professional agricultural organizations.
She has competed in FFA Horse Judging, Quiz Bowl, Essay contest, and her Supervised Agricultural Experience program is in Specialty Animal Production (SAE). Her SAE consists of raising Mini-Rex rabbits, maintaining a company website for her rabbits, and selling them across the United States.
Randi Jo Faulk
Faulk Jo will be attending Vincennes University and is planning to transfer to Purdue and become a veterinarian. She is the daughter of J.D. and Mary Lou Faulk, of Worthington.
Faulk is an active 4-H and FFA member serving in several leadership roles and competing in livestock judging, demonstrations, and parliamentary procedure. Her FAA Special Animal Experience project is beef production and consists of a small herd of beef cows.
Bradley Seymour
Seymour will be attending Vincennes University to study diesel mechanics and is working to become a Shaffer Oil Distributor.
He is the son of Greg and DeNae Seymour of Bloomfield.
Seymour is an active FFA member and has served as the Bloomfield FFA chapter secretary and is a member of the Indiana FFA Band.
Alissa Hayes
Hayes will be attending Purdue University and majoring in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary medicine.
She is the daughter of Jim and Rhonda Hayes of Jasonville.
Hayes has been an active FFA member participating in several activities, serving in leadership roles including chapter president, and is a 10-year 4-H member in Sullivan County.
