(UNDATED) - The youth wild turkey hunting season starts this weekend.
The season runs until May 13th. Hunters under the age of eighteen can purchase a license for $7.00 for the youth season this Saturday and Sunday.
Conservation officer Joe Haywood Haywood reminds hunters to bring turkeys to a check station within 48 hours after the bird is harvested.
Haywood expects up to 11,000 wild turkey birds to be killed in Indiana this hunting season.
