(FAYETTEVILLE) - A Bedford woman was injured Wednesday night after she swerved to miss a cat and crashed her truck.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 33-year-old Erica Fender was traveling U.S. 158 West near Fayetteville - Owensburg Road Wednesday night when a cat was in the roadway.

Fender told police she swerved her 2000 Ford F-150 to avoid hitting the cat and that caused her to run off the road and hit a dirt embankment. The truck then turned over on its side.

Fender suffered cuts to her lower arm.
