Last updated on Thursday, April 12, 2012

(BARTLETTSVILLE) - A 17-year-old girl suffered minor injuries during a vehicle crash early Tuesday morning, according to a Lawrence County Police Department accident report.

Karlie Atkinson, 485 Briarwood Lane, was driving on Coveyville Road, near Larry Tincher Lane, at 6:32 a.m. when she sneezed and the 2000 Ford Ranger she was driving veered off the road and hit a bridge guard rail, according to the report.

The pickup went up on the guard rail, sliding to the end and then hitting the bridge abutment. After hitting the abutment, the pickup struck a fire hydrant, which caused it to overturn.

Atkinson was treated at the scene for pain to her shoulder.
