Salem Man Dies After Crashing Motorcycle

(SALEM) - A Salem man has died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash Sunday morning.

Dead is Samuel T. Waldridge Jr., 44, 4386 S. Tanglewood Ln.

The crash occurred around 11 a.m. on State Road 60 East, east of Sullivan Lane.

According to a report by Deputy Scott Schocke of the Washington County Sheriff's Department, Waldridge was eastbound.

A witness reported that Waldridge lost control of his motorcycle, going off the right side of the roadway and striking a road sign.

Waldridge was pronounced dead at the scene from head injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.

Assisting wer the Washington County Coroner's Office, Pierce-Polk Volunteer Fire Department and Washington County Ambulance Service.
