Last updated on Sunday, April 1, 2012

(BLOOMINGTON) - Police and the cornorer’s officer are attempting to identify a body they found Saturday.

Members of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office found the body in the area of the 2800 block of Fawkesway Drive, off Arlington Road, Saturday afternoon, according to Chief Deputy Mike Pershing.

Pershing did not say if the body was that of a man or woman, but did say that an no foul play is suspected.

"There is nothing that indicates there's anything out of the ordinary," he said.

Members of the sheriff's department had been asked to search that area earlier in the week, after they took a missing person report on a man, Pershing said. Officers had been searching in that area on Thursday, but did not search on Friday because of weather. A search for the man that had been reported missing resumed Saturday.

"Initially, the objective was to locate a missing man," Pershing said.

Pershing was unable to release any other details about the missing person.
