Last updated on Thursday, April 26, 2012

(MITCHELL) 26-year-old Jesse Boyle, of Elberfeld, was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital by helicopter after he was shot by his father-in-law Wednesday morning while turkey hunting in Mitchell.

According to Indiana Department of Natural Resource Officer Jim Hash, Boyle suffered wounds to the right side of his face, neck and shoulder area.

Hash says, 49-year-old Gerald Walton had been hunting in the area and was heading to meet his hunting partner when he saw some movement behind a tree and he fired, hitting his son-in-law Boyle.

The men were hunting on the Walton property in the 1100 block of Hidden Valley Lane.
