(MITCHELL) - The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a report of bigamy.
A Mitchell woman reported that her former husband, while married to her, was also married to a Clark County Ohio woman.
The woman married the man in November of 2008 and has since divorced him and he has moved to Ohio.
According to Clark County officials the man never divorced his first wife, before marrying the Mitchell woman.
Chief Deputy Mike Branham says the allegation is under investigation and until charges are filed the names of those involved will not be released.
