Drugs Discovered During Domestic Battery Arrest

Last updated on Tuesday, April 17, 2012

(BLOOMINGTON) - A 23-year-old Bloomington woman called police just before 6 p.m. Saturday in response to an alleged battery by the father of her children.

Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Lucas Tate says police interviewed the woman at her home on the 1300 block of West 13th Street, but the suspect, Shaun East, 23, wasn't there when police arrived.

The victim says East hit her in front of their child, who is just shy of 2 years old.

Police found East a short time later and found East had a small bag of methamphetamine on him, Tate says.

East was arrested and could be charged with Class D felony domestic battery in the presence of a minor and B felony possession of methamphetamine, Tate says.
