(COLUMBUS) - A Columbus man who broke into a woman's home while she was inside was sentenced Wednesday to 18 years in prison with three years suspended.

Anthony E. Jeffares, 49, threw a brick through a door window in October to gain access to the home in the 600 block of Fourth Street. The woman called police, who found Jeffares hiding inside behind a couch.

Jeffares was charged with burglary, a Class B felony. He pleaded guilty to the charge in March.
