Alva Sibbitt Jr. Trial Continued

(ENGLISH) - The criminal trial for former Paoli Community Schools Superintendent Alva Sibbit Jr. has again been continued in Crawford Circuit Court.

The trial, which was to begin Tuesday, was continued so another trial could begin.

Sibbitt, 69, was arrested Dec. 9, 2010. Indiana State Trooper Robert Lambert said Sibbit allegedly rammed the Paoli Community Schools van he was driving into a parked patrol car.

Sibbitt was charged with resisting law enforcement, a Class D felony; intimidation, a Class D felony; resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor; criminal recklessness, a Class A misdemeanor; and criminal mischief, a Class A misdemeanor.
