Website Offers Local and State Budget Information

Last updated on Tuesday, March 27, 2012

(BEDFORD) - The state has set up a new website that allows viewing of different budget reports within Lawrence County and others, according to Lawrence County Auditor Billie Tumey.

The Indiana Transparency Portal (ITP) is designed to give Indiana taxpayers an inside look into Indiana Government spending and operations.

According to Tumey, ITP is designed to bring better visibility, openness and accountability to Indiana state government.

The ITP contains information ranging from budgets, state contracts and agency performance measures as well as reports on local government budgets.

To access it, simply go to www.in.gov/itp and click on the Indiana Gateway for Local Government Unit, located in the middle of the home page. To see specific budget reports, browse to Unit Reports, the Budget Reports and the year.

Tumey says reports can be printed and residents can also sign up so an email can be sent to you by an email every time unit of state government files an update to their budget information.
