Washington Teen Arrested After Damaging Mailboxes

Last updated on Tuesday, March 27, 2012

(WASHINGTON) - One person is charged in connection with mailbox vandalism in Daviess County.

Police arrested 18-year-old Logan Alan Johnson and charged him with 8 counts of criminal mischief. He was booked into the Daviess County Security Center on $14,000 bond and was released after posting bond.

Police Officers in Washington noticed a number of mailboxes had been clipped by a vehicle on Saturday night.

Around 6:10-am Sunday, authorities received a call from a newspaper delivery person who reported a white truck with large wheels had attempted to run her off the road. She also reported seeing several mailboxes broken off along her route.

Police located the vehicle a short time later. At the same times more calls were coming into the dispatch center reporting damage. One caller was able to write down the license plate number of the truck.

That number matched the plate on the truck stopped by police.
