(BLOOMFIELD)(GC Daily World) - Convicted child molester Randell Vandeventer's sentencing has been continued.

Late Friday afternoon, defense attorney Luther Garcia, of Indianapolis, filed a motion in Greene Superior Court that was granted by Judge Dena Martin to continue the scheduled sentencing hearing until 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10.

The sentencing was previously set for 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

In requesting the continuance, Garcia noted in his motion that there was a scheduling conflict with a jury trial in another county that would prevent him from attending the scheduled sentencing hearing.

Judge Martin also ordered that if Vandeventer is released from Department of Defense custody in an unrelated class D felony conviction for child seduction, he will be remanded to the custody of the Greene County Sheriff's Department until the sentencing hearing in the case is concluded.

Vandeventer was sentenced in the prior case on Sept. 20, 2011 to one year and five months. According to DOC records, Vandeventer, who is an inmate at New Castle Correction Facility, has an earliest possible release in that case of April 29.

In the latest case, a Greene Superior Court jurors returned a guilty verdict in three of the five felony child molesting charges against Vandeventer after nearly eight-and-one-half hours of deliberation.

The 51-year-old Vandeventer was found guilty of three counts of child molesting -- all class C felonies.

He was acquitted of two counts of class A felony child molesting and one count of attempted child molesting, a class C felony.

The possible sentence ranges between two and eight years on each of the guilty counts.

This case involves guilty verdicts involving two male victims over a time period between 2000 to 2008 when the children attended Tiny Town Daycare Center in Switz City that was owned by Vandeventer and his wife, Lia.

Today, the victims range in age from 14 to 17 years.
