(SALEM) - A New Albany woman was arrested Thursday and charged with theft for allegedly stealing copper wire from Washington County Rural Telephone.

Sabrina A. Bradley, 27, was arrested after Indiana State Police Trooper Zachary Smith noticed suspicious activity near Washington County Rural Telephone.

While on patrol of the area devastated by the tornado, Smith saw a blue Chevrolet passenger car sitting in the middle of Old Pekin Road near Hurst Road. He discovered Bradley had entered the telephone company's property and loaded two wooden reels of black wire into her trunk.

She also had an assorted amount of copper wire in her trunk.

Bradley was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center on charges of theft from a telecommunications provider, theft/receiving stolen property and false informing.
