(BROWNSTOWN) - The mother of a teen who died when the bicycle he was riding was hit in the early hours of March 21, 2010, has sued the Crothersville man involved in the wreck.

The lawsuit against Christopher M. Hall was filed March 8 in Jackson Circuit Court by Angela Grubb of Seymour, who is the mother of 17-year-old Zachary B. Grubb.

The lawsuit seeks alleged damages as a result of her son's death.

Zachary Grubb and a second teen, Todd Schurman, were struck by a pickup driven by Hall as they rode a bicycle south on U.S. 31, south of County Road 500 North, around 2 a.m. that day. Schurman was pronounced dead at the scene while Zach Grubb was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he died around 10 a.m. March 22.

Angela Grubb contends in the lawsuit that Hall was negligent in the operation, maintenance and control of his vehicle, which played a substantial role in her son's death

Angela Grubb is seeking damages against Hall for the medical bills incurred for her son's care after the wreck as well as funeral and burial expenses and damages due to the loss of the love and companionship of her son.

The Indiana State Police investigated the wreck, and at the time, investigators did not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
