(COLUMBUS) - Two Columbus residents are accused of operating a methamphetamine lab in a garage near Southside Elementary School.
28-year-old Robert Carmer and 22-year-old Holly Warner were arrested late Monday after authorities allegedly discovered the lab in the 2000 block of South Road 130W.
Bartholomew County Sheriff's deputies received information about a possible meth lab on the property and found components for a meth lab in a detached garage while executing a search warrant at 9 p.m. Monday.
The lab was not active when deputies found it, but evidence indicated it had recently been used to make meth, said Maj. Todd Noblitt, Chief Deputy of the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department.
Carmer and Warner were booked into Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of manufacturing meth, a Class A felony, and illegal possession of anhydrous ammonia, a Class C felony.
The charges were elevated to higher level felonies because the lab was allegedly within 1,000 feet of a school.
Carmer and Warner were being held Tuesday on $150,000 bond or 10 percent cash at the jail.
