Loogootee Basketball Team Heading To State Finals

Last updated on Sunday, March 18, 2012

(SOUTH PORTH) - Loogootee beats out Edinburgh in a tremendous victory that paves the way to the State Finals against another Wabash Valley team, Rockville.

Loogootee's Bryant Ackerman had 23 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assist. Conner Wittmer 17 points, 7 rebounds.

Two Wabash Valley teams hoisted a most coveted prize: the IHSAA Semi State plaque, to take back home and and mount their monuments with pride into their schools' history.

Rockville held strong in a tremendous battle of strength and skill against Ft. Wayne Canterbury to win their Semi State tournament.

Loogootee came from behind and held the lead in a late game winner against Edinburgh.

These two great victories are spectacular in themselves; however, what's even more amazing is the fact that this State Finals will be the first ever where two Wabash Valley teams will face each other.

Even though Rockville and Loogootee will face-off on Saturday, March 24 at 10 a.m. for the State Finals championship, and only one can win their first ever State Title, a win for either of them equals a monumental win for all of the Wabash Valley.
