(BICKNELL) - A Linton woman lost her life in a single vehicle accident Wednesday morning near Bicknell.
63-year-old Joyce Landis of County Road 75 North in Linton was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following the 10 a.m. accident, and died of her injuries there.
Her husband, 65-year-old William Landis, was also injured in the accident and is presently being treated at Vincennes Good Samaritan Hospital for chest injuries, according to the Indiana State Police.
His condition was not immediately available at press time.
He'd been driving the southbound 2006 Lincoln Mark pick-up truck on State Road 65 just south of Scepter Road, according to the police report.
"For no apparent reason, the vehicle left the roadway on the west side and struck a fence," according to the report. It then continued southwest through a farm field, passing through a small wooded area and over a drainage ditch before it struck an embankment.
