(BROWNSTOWN) - Town Marshal Tom Hanner’s plans to supplement his five-man force with a second part-time officer.
Mitch Ray, is now completing his training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy at Plainfield.
"He will work 32 or less hours a week and not receive benefits," Hanner says of the part-time position.
Hanner did receive permission to buy some equipment for the part-time officer for when that new job is filled.
Hanner says, the officer will help fill in for officers on vacations and at special events.
Earlier this year, council gave Hanner its approval to hire former Officer John Long for eight to 16 hours a week for coverage.
