Last updated on Tuesday, March 27, 2012

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police are investigating a report of a woman being strangled Sunday night at her home in the 1400 block of West 13th Street. Police are not releasing the names of those involved.

Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Steve Kellams says the 27-year-old man and his 22-year-old wife were allegedly arguing about the man's glasses, which had been crushed in the front yard. The man allegedly attempted to strangle his wife during the argument.

According to Kellams, the man's 21-year-old girlfriend, was also present during the argument. And she left with the man after the fight.

The wife told police her husband had obstructed her airway, though Kellams says there were no visible injuries. She told police she plans to press charges.

Kellams says if arrested, the man could face charges of domestic battery and strangulation.
