(BLOOMFIELD) - A 26-year-old Megan Nonte of rural Bloomfield has petitioned Greene Superior Court for a sentence modification. (GC Daily World)

Nonte is now serving a prison sentence on heroin dealing and possession charges.

Nonte was sentenced in Nov. 2010 to 12 years with the Indiana Department of Correction with five years suspended on dealing a narcotic drug and possession of narcotic charges.

She has filed a petition with the court to serve out the remainder of her seven-year executed sentence in the Greene County Community Corrections Center at Bloomfield.

She is currently an inmate at the DOC's Madison Correctional Facility with a release date on May 26, 2013. Judge Dena Martin took the request under advisement.

Nonte and Jeremy Cook were arrested in late May 2010 as a result of an investigation that began in mid-March. They were allegedly buying heroin on a regular basis from a source in Indianapolis then selling it in Monroe and Greene counties from their home located at 1609 N. Blue Barn Road east of Bloomfield.

Police obtained four samples of the substance being sold and said they all tested positive as heroin, according to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court.

33 -year-old Cook was convicted of three felonies: Two counts of dealing in a narcotic drug, both class B felonies; and one count of possession of a narcotic drug, a class D felony.

He was sentenced to 10 years, with two years suspended, on each of the class B felony counts, and one year on the class D felony count.

Cook is presently an inmate at the Branchville Correctional Facility in Perry County with a projected earliest release date of Nov. 26, 2018, according to DOC records.
