Last updated on Monday, March 19, 2012

(NEEDMORE) - 28-year-old Colin M. Crose, of Bedford, was killed Sunday afternoon after he crashed his motorcycle on North Pike Road near Trogden Lane.

According to a Lawrence County Police report Crose was traveling north on North Pike Road when for some unknown reason his 2005 Honda Shadow left the right side of the roadway and went into a ditch.

The motorcycle traveled along the ditch until hitting a concrete culvert, causing the motorcycle to flip forward. The motorcycle then flew over the driveway.

According to Jordan Knight, who witnessed the wreck, Crose was able to stay on the motorcycle until the motorcycle flipped causing Crose to be thrown from the bike when it landed.

The motorcycle continued a short distance before coming to rest on the right side of the roadway.

Crose, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered severe head trauma and died at the scene.
