(BEDFORD) One driver was hurt and another was arrested after two vehicles collided at 18th and M streets at 8:35 a.m. Saturday.

According to a Bedford Police Department report, James W. Myers II, 18, Shoals, was driving a 2006 Chrysler minivan west on 18th Street, approaching the M Street stoplight.

Meanwhile, a 1993 Ford pickup, being driven by Harry D. Butler, 32, 1619 F St., was heading east on 18th Street, police reported.

Myers told police he had the green light at the intersection and started turning left onto M Street because he did not see the pickup.

Butler told police that he saw the van turning onto M Street, but he could not stop in time, and the truck hit the front passenger side of the van.

Myers complained of chest pain after the wreck.

Butler was arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, according to the police report.
