(SPENCER) - A Spencer teenager died Sunday evening in a single-vehicle accident.
Owen County deputies were called to the scene of accident on State Highway 246 near Bixler Road around 8 p.m.
Deputies found one vehicle with its passenger partially ejected.
That person was identified as 18-year-old Nicole McGee of Spencer.
McGee was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe McGee was traveling southbound on State Highway 246. While going around a corner, police say the vehicle went off the south side of the roadway. They say McGee over corrected, causing the vehicle to go across the westbound lane before sliding sideways. The vehicle then began to roll before striking a tree on the driver's side.
Police say speed is believed to have been a factor in the accident.
