Washington Resident Vying To Fill Indiana Supreme Court Seat

(UNDATED) - Three women and four men are among the seven semifinalists vying to fill the empty seat on the Indiana Supreme Court that will be left by the retirement of Chief Justice Randall Shepard.

The list includes four judges and three attorneys, including Gov. Mitch Daniels' former counsel, Mark Massa. The others are Floyd Superior Judge Maria Granger, from Washington and attorneys Steven Schultz of Columbus and Jane Seigle of Indianapolis and Marion Superior Court Judges Robert Altice Jr. and Robyn Moberly, Indiana Court of Appeals Judge Cale Bradford.

The seven-member Judicial Nominating Commission will interview the semifinalist in Indianapolis on Feb. 22. Daniels will select the justice from three finalists.
