Voice For Kids Host Teddy Bear Tea

Last updated on Wednesday, February 8, 2012

(BLOOMFIELD) - The Greene County Voices for Kids program will be hosting a Teddy Bear Tea for adults and children on Valentine’s Day.

Parents and children can enjoy cake, ice cream at the Pepperoni Grill in Bloomfield at three designated times 2:30 p.m. 3 p.m. or 3:30 p.m.

Children will receive a complimentary sweetheart rose and tiny teddy bear, as well as a photo opportunity with a special guest Tommy Teddy Bear. Parents are also encouraged to bring a camera for taking pictures.

The price is $25 per couple, which includes one child and one adult. It is 10 for each additional guest. Reservations must be made by Feb. 9.

The proceeds from the event will benefit the not-for-profit Voices for Kids. According to Juvenile Court Advocate Katie Stingley, the funds will help to support Children In Need of Services through the Court Appointed Special Advocated Program.

Voices is dedicated to helping abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system receive not only the support and guidance of a CASA volunteer, but as normal a life as possible while under the court's jurisdiction.

Many of our Children In Needs Service families cannot afford some of the non-essential expenses that can make life more normal for the children in the system, according to Stingley. Some of those items include class rings, school trips, prom dresses, camps.
