(SPRINGVILLE) - A Springville couple were found dead in their trailer, on Poplar Ridge Road, Thursday afternoon.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig the bodies were found by a family member who went to check on one of the two.
Dead are 36-year-old Aaron Gater and 37-year-old Judith Gater.
Craig says a firearm was involved in the deaths. Autopsies are scheduled for today.
"After the autopsies we will learn more and be able to released more details," Craig says. "We are also still in the process of interviewing friends and family. The case is still under investigation."
Lawrence County police went to the trailer at 1:10 a.m. Thursday after receiving a call requesting them to check on the family.
Craig says that police could not get anyone to answer the door.
A family member went to the trailer around 1:30 p.m. and found the bodies and called police.
Craig did say there is no reason to believe residents are in danger or that there is a killer at large.
