(PAOLI) - With the alarming increase of childhood bullying, it is critical for adults to understand how and why such violence can develop.
To address the issue the Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) is hosting a local Youth Worker Café on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Super Burger, on West Main Street in Paoli. Lunch will be provided.
The presentation will examine how children become bullies, why others are the targets and what role bystanders often play. Joan Knies, community education specialist, of Crisis Connection, will share how bullying often leads to more violence, highlighting the importance of breaking the cycle of aggression in homes, schools and communities.
The discussion will also explore the implications of technology abuse, such as cyber bullying, as well as programs that aim to stop bullying.
If you plan to attend RSVP by noon on Tuesday to Deana Davis at 254-4586 or email email@example.com.
